Those were the broad goals, but he figured out the details on the fly. Jones said one day while sitting in school, Jamol suggested they join the Guard. Two days later, they were in the Military Entrance Processing Station getting physicals.
His interest in becoming an officer landed him in the ROTC office of Arkansas Tech University.
“I loved knowing the prestigious side of being an officer, the sharpness of it, being a leader,” Jones said.
Jones ranked high with the program and received a slot to attend Air Assault School in Camp Rilea, Ore., a physically challenging 10-day course of instruction. He graduated with honors July 1, and eight days later was on a plane to start the Leader’s Training Course.
“I’ve been training for a while,” Jones said with a laugh.
Jones, of Co. E 2/321st IET, is no stranger to leadership roles.
He is the assistant vice president of the southwestern region for his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha. He sits on the board of directors and helps oversee the fraternity for Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, all while juggling ROTC.
He said the demanding environment the position provides helps him pay attention to the details of ROTC.
“Sometimes I get in the business mindset and I’ll have to take care of all these chapters, but then I have to get back in my ‘hooah’ mood and get muddy,” he said. “It’s an about-face every time.”
Jones said he has learned a lot about himself by doing both and seeing how much he can handle. It has also helped him learn about chain of command in both civilian and military worlds.
Jones recited part of the Alpha Phi Alpha mission statement that resonates with him the most – to develop leaders and promote brotherhood while providing service and advocacy for our communities.
“I was in love with the history of it,” Jones said. “It really inspired me to be a better person.
“The reason why I joined is because I wanted to lead, especially African American youth males who don’t have anyone to look up to. Ultimately, my goal is to give back in any way possible.”
Second Lt. Justin Purser, a squad tactical officer for Echo Co., said Jones demonstrates a professional demeanor.
“He is probably the most squared-away Cadet in his whole squad, if not the whole platoon,” Purser said. “He helps other Cadets if they need it and tries to keep everyone motivated.”
His achievements have given him skills he uses at the Leader’s Training Course.
“I know I’m a little further along, so I take the initiative to help them,” Jones said. “Even when I’m not in a leadership position, I’m helping them and giving them information.”
Both what the president said and the answer that Obama gave the congressman, that the congressman is giving to the people is BOGUS!! “I was a missionary living in Honduras for 12 years. In my travels I became aware
of a base in the Mountains of strange Military people from other nations. They
were soldiers from the Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Cuba, Iran, Venezuela and
Nicaragua as well as gang members of the MS 13’s. They were training these men
to speak Spanish in a Nicaraguan dialect and given Nicaraguan and Mexican
papers. No one would know that they were from the Middle Eastern countries.
They were on “Monkey Point” between Nicaragua and Honduras and were supposedly
rebuilding the port as it was in bad need of repair. However, what they really
were doing was first of all helping the drugs go through the country to the USA
and they were mining Uranium and sending it back to Iran.
I called up to one of the Governors in the USA and told them what was happening.
They never responded to me after I wrote the report for them. This Governor was
on the foreign affairs committee.
A few weeks went by and I was working in the same area of our USA Military base
when all in one day they sent in many planes and C-130’s and took our equipment
and our military out of there.
I told the people in my report that these men were part of the kidnapping gangs
in Honduras. They were funding the arms and their men with the kidnappings. Two
of my friends were kidnapped inside of two months and had to pay a lot of money
to be set free. One of my friends was taken in a police Helicopter so we knew
the national police and the President of Honduras at that time were involved in
this. Those helicopters only flew with permission of the President.
I started to have men following me and watching my house for a week or so and so
I got out before I was next.
These same men are now in Mexico and they are paying thousands of dollars to the
Mexicans to help them pass through tunnels and over ground into Arizona and
California so that at the right time they will attack us from within. Our
Government knows this and does nothing about it. Those borders are in problems
as our government wants it that way. I am sure there has been an agreement made
with this Government and the Mexican one to give back those states of Arizona,
California, New Mexico and part of Texas to the Mexicans. That is why the
Federal Government does nothing.
The other reason they do nothing is they want to get as many immigrants in here
as possible so they can legalize them and they can vote for the democrats again
and put Obama back in office. They know we won’t do it.
After our military evacuates the southern states and declares martial law
because of a greater catastrophe to come, they then will disarm all who will go
against the Government here so they can make these land transfers go through
without a lot of opposition. One can only wonder what agreements have been made
with China to pay back our debts to them.
I am just a missionary who never had anything to do with politics before I left
the USA and found out what really was going on. Just thru prayer, fasting and a
little discernment I have become highly informed of many things. Imagine if all
Christians, who call themselves such on this earth, began to really be real with
God and fasted and prayed and used their discernment what would happen. Perhaps all the tricks that the enemy is using would be revealed to all and the enemy would be defeated in an instant.
We are all part of the body of Christ. When one part of the body is expected to
do it all and the other parts of the body do not do their part, the whole body
falls. Get it?
We are commanded in the word of God as people who are Christ like, to be our
brother’s keeper. That does not mean we sit and do nothing. We must help all
that we can in these days to come. Open your homes and hearts to the people
everywhere who need to escape the snares being set by the enemy. Many have lost
their homes and need a place to go. Open your eyes and ears and hear the will of
God and open your hearts and do the will of God.
